If you've been eating healthy, watching your portions, and still can't seem to lose the weight... it’s not your fault.
According to Dr. John Layke, a renowned plastic surgeon who has worked with hundreds of frustrated dieters in Beverly Hills, the problem isn't that you're eating too much.
It's that you're eating the wrong foods – and some of the biggest culprits are ones you probably think are helping you.

“Your body doesn't treat all foods the same way,” says Dr. Layke. “Even if they have similar calories, some foods naturally help your body burn fat for energy while others flip a biological switch that turns almost everything you eat straight into fat.”
And some of the worst offenders? Foods that are marketed as "healthy" diet staples.

"Take bananas, for example,” Dr. Layke explains.
“Most people consider them a perfect diet food – natural, filling, and guilt-free. But bananas are loaded with fructose, a type of sugar your liver processes differently than other sugars. When you eat too much fructose, your liver can't burn it all for energy. So instead, it converts it directly into fat and stores it – often around your midsection."
Orange juice is even worse, according to Dr. Layke. "A single glass contains the fructose of 4-5 oranges without any of the fiber to slow absorption. That massive surge of fructose floods your liver all at once... triggering immediate fat storage."
Even some apples can have nearly twice as much sugar as others, which spells disaster for your waistline.
The good news is, once you understand which foods sabotage your body's natural fat-burning ability – along with a few natural fat-burning foods – losing weight becomes a whole lot easier.
Dr. Layke has identified specific everyday foods that activate your body's natural fat-burning ability, rather than shutting it down.
Some of them might surprise you – including one common kitchen spice that has been shown in studies to speed up metabolism, helping you lose weight.
For years, this information was shared only with his private Beverly Hills clients – many of them celebrities who had tried everything and were still struggling. But after seeing their remarkable results, Dr. Layke decided to make this information public in a short presentation.
